I am the king of mini golf.
I defeated Sir Matt Brouwer in a playoff hole Saturday evening, and he came back for more on Sunday where I beat him quite handilly. Hooah!

Speaking of Pirates.
I found a site, Fidius.org that will figure out your pirate name based on a short quiz...
My Pirate name is Iron Davy Flint. hooah!
My Pirate name is Iron Davy Flint. hooah!
Har, there be Pirates in these waters...
I watched most of The Life Aquatic last night and am still getting over the fight on the boat scene... something about Bill Murray with a gun.
Speaking of Piracy, I've been looking for the original Star Wars trilogy on eBay this week. I bid on 1 set and lost and asked about another. Shockingly, both sellers sent me emails asking if I was interested in buying burned copies of the movies, one guy offering all 6 of the series on DVD. Ep 3 is barely in theatres. I've thought about trying to report these guys... but I guess I really don't care that much. I'm just a bit surprised. If I wanted pirated videos, i could download them myself. Yo Ho Ho...

LIARS and THIEVES!
So, my car has a nice rumble to it at highway speeds. I go to get it checked out at Canadian Tire, and they say it's the control arm bushings causing the rumble. Other places have told me that, so I figure, lets get it fixed. They call me at work and say,
IT'S GOING TO BE $700.00 TOTAL.
Luckilly, they didn't have the part, giving me the time to call around. I call the Hyundai dealer, figuring that they of all people would screw me over the most.... they quote $178.00 installed.
Shmidt!
DO NOT GO TO CANADIAN TIRE FOR MAJOR CAR REPAIRS... I'm a believer now... took a while, but what a bunch of crooks... so much for stickiung with Canadian business... it's not worth it.

Laptop Free Since May 17...
So, I've been without my precious since 2 1/2 weeks ago... it stinks. I've got a crappy old pc in the garage, but usually have neither the patience, or energy to post while there.
Faith and I went to Toronto on Sunday, FOR HER BIRTHDAY (Tuesday). We stayed in a hotel with a pool, shopped for a few hours at Vaughan Mills mall... That place is huge! I got some new Nike shoes for $44. Monday, we went to Canada's Wonderland for the day and there were hardly any lineups. I think we waited longest for Tombraider and Topgun with Sky Rider a close third, all 40-55min wait. The Vortex line was about as long as it takes to eat a hotdog, which we almost didn't finish prior to riding. All in total, we did 15 times on 13 rides in our 7 hours there, repeating the minebuster and vortex, and had a great day... Beautiful weather!
When we got home, Faith's parents showed up for a few days, then whisked her away to Cochrane for a few days.
Last night I played my second career game of Church League Baseball, meeting in Listowel against the other good team in our division. We ended up beating them 17-15 despite my 4 fly-outs... We're pretty confident we'll win the league this year. Hooah!
That's about it. I'm a bachelor for a few days, so all you ladies who want a piece, I'm not in the market at the moment.

Go Baseball!!!! Wooooo!
I played some church Baseball last night, we totally cleaned up, something like 29-4 or something... I played alright, although, I did make some blunders in the first inning... I was playing 3rd base, Kelly Gruber's position... The Hot Corner... Booyah!
Go Baseball!

Once again, LOST fails to dissapoint, unless you count the fact that there's still a lot of unresolved crap with that show. But who really cares about that? We saw a guy blow up... freakin cool! There's a pirate ship, and Locke is crazier than ever. Just one problem.
It's usually about this time of year that the Leafs are booted from the Stanley Cup Playoffs, so, in Lieu of the NHL, LOST has taken over and given me something to crave for the next 3 months. Bittersweet, really. Now my schedule is open, thanks to sweeps, just like the hatch -- dynamite. At least we know it's not goblins.
Patrick had a theory about the hatch and Locke's response to what he thought was in it... Pandora's box, when opened releases all kinds of bad stuff, but what's left inside is... HOPE. Exactly what Locke said.
Not all was blown by the dynamite, or taken by Randy Purdy's long lost cousin on the boat... The Numbers are still there and as cursed as ever... 4 8 15 16 23 42 ... 4 8 15 16 23 42 ... 4 8 15 16 23 42

Stupid George Lucas
Today was a rather dissapointing and uneventful Victoria day, as usual, being too cold and miserable to do anything fun like camping, and everything being closed like it is... We did go to the New Dundee garage sale, I got some road hockey gear for a few bucks... and had back bacon on a bun... It was worth the drop in my life expectancy.. totally.
Tonight we go back to the dundee region for the fireworks, only to find out that they were cancelled... what a sham. So we decided to go see a movie, Kicking and Screaming, due to late showings of Star Wars. We got our tickets, pop and corn, and sat and waited for about 1/2 hour until some kid comes in and says they're having technical difficulties, so they couldn't get our movie going. They refunded our tickets with vouchers god for a movie, but we couldn't transfer them to see star wars... Stupid Geroge Lucas... anyways, we come home, take out the garbage, and will probably go to bed soon. ugh.

Local Engineer choo choo's up the competition.
Local Train Driver, Matt Brouwer took home the bacon at the first ever Poker Tourney in Dan's garage. The Final pot of $65 was split between second place Dan Grace ($15) and final winner, the Freugal Dutchman himself, Matt brouwer, taking home a whopping $50. In attendance were in order of losers first, Pat Erb, Rudy Eigenheer, Chris Pudel, Dan Grace and Matt Brouwer.
It was a fun filled evening with some big momentum shifts. Start to finish, it was 4 1/2 hours til the game was wrapped up, including the 45 minute hot dog break. The next tourney is set to run the first weekend of June, likely on the saturday or sunday late afternoon, so let me know if you're interested by emailing HERE.

Helluva Bad Idea...
Well, the autopsy results are in for the recent d-train woes, and it's due to some new food introduced to our diets. Helluva Good French Onion Chip Dip... had some last night for dinner and Faith had a few hours of issues in the night and I was at the brink of puking for about an hour. Ugh.
Rather than keeping it, and sharing with the guys at the poker game tonight without notifying them of the consequences, we threw it out. It's the right thing to do. Which brings me to my main point, Poker tonight around 7pm. Call me if you're interested, cause we've got 1 seat left. Your money is good here.

I'm a cripple
well, figuratively speaking... I took the ol' laptop in to get serviced sue to some problems with the power jack, and it sounds like it will be a motherboard replacement... not sure how long that'll take, but I know it's covered under my Product Service Plan at Futureshop... lucky me... just off the manufacturers waranty. So that leaves me with no computer.
I'm trying to ressurrect an old pc I have in the garage, but it's a PII-266, so I'll be relatively limited... Anyone who wants to get ahold of me, this week and this week only, I can be reached by phone. otherwise... meh.

Shocking Revelation... Labatt's new drink SUCKS
So I tried the new Labatt Shock, with guarana... let it be known, that I really don't appreciate fruity drinks, nor do I like fruit in my chocolate or beer... However, the idea of adding caffeine or a suitable replacement to drinks is right up my alley.

This is Guarana... the stuff they put in the Shock, and Molson's Kick. Freaky looking thing, eh? Kinda got a weird taste to it, making the ick factor much worse. Based on the drink being derived from Labatt Blue, the ick factor was quite high to start with.
Note: Ick Factor - a measurement of a)number of hairs on back of neck that stand up due to consuming a product or b)severity of gagging and cringeing due to consumption of a product.
All in all, I still felt tired and ended up feeling nauseous due to this bevvy. ICK.

All the muck that's fit to rake...

Left to right Matt, Me and Rudy... were accompanied by the absent Pat and Amanda in a lovely game of Poker tonight after Survivor. This was the innauguraul voyage of the newly finished poker table. Matt and I painted yesterday and Pat and I put legs on and laid the felt today. It turned out quite nice, but I am biased... The final cost was somewhere around $35-45 for supplies. It's a lot nicer than the Giant Tiger one for $50 and rivals the Walmart table for $119.
It was quite fitting that I end up with all the chips at the end, getting a good run of cards to take out my last opponent, Rudy. Here's the standings as they happened.
6th - Amanda
5th - Matt
4th - Amanda
3rd - Pat
2nd - Rudy
1st - Dan
Amanda was allowed a rebuy of 500 chips due to an early exit. Some stogeys were smoked, the losers lounge was used by spouses only, so, a good time all around... Hooah!

Beggin' aint the way to do it...
I am ill... I should call in sick... the drama has made me sick and I am utterly dissapointed in the finale of The Amazing Race. Rob and Amber had it locked up, and in the bag, but the stupid Pilot let Uchenna and Joice on the plane, and such is history...
freakin stupid pilot... who lets people on the plane after the ramp has pulled away anyways? IDIOTS! That's who... ugh. what a waste of time.

Smackin' the balls around once again...
...seriously, get your minds out of the gutters... I'm talking about Golf. Today we went to Westhill Meadows, a par 3 course, for my first event of the year. Matt and Pat were there, and making a rare celebrity cameo appearance was Faith Grace!
As always, my first game of the year is awesome, followed by a steady decline in awesomeness with a feww good games inter-mingled. Today, I shot a 31 on a par 27, a remarkable 4 over! That's including my double bogey on the last hole... ugh. I think I hit the green on 7 of the 9 holes, and my putting was decent. We just snuck our 9 holes in before the monday night league starts, barely beating the horn off the 9th hole.
Golfers beware, if you golf with me once, shame on you... golf with me twice, better chances that I'll suck more the second time. BooyaH!

I thought that it might have Ben Hur

Switchfoot is coming out with a new album! It'll be ready in August this year. I've been a fan ever since their first album made it my way, in fact, Chem 6A off Legend of Chin was one of the first songs I performed in front of anyone.
I missed them in Toronto last year, so I hope I won't miss them the next time they come around. I imagine they'll be touring a lot after they release their album. It's been good to see them get radio play, seeing as most "Christian Bands" don't get much real radio play. Plus, I really like their music, so I get to hear it more often, and feel good because I liked them before most other people.
Garage Sales
Yesterday, Faith and I went a Garagesailing... It was the annual Manheim townwide sale, so we went out at the crack of dawn, er 7:45... Among the things we found and purchased were: A Kevlar Baseball bat for $2, a large Coke tin for $1, 3 German made donuts.... mmmmm... for $1.25. We spent a mere 2 hours out there, and did fairly well. I rained a bit, but there was still a lot of people and sales.
We went to Burketon for Grandma Grace's birthday party and mothers day gettogether after the sale. There was a yard sale close to her place, so we stopped in and got a NES complete with 7 games, 2 controllers, and the gun. Some of the games include: Double Dragon, Wrestlemania, Blades of Steel, and as we found out when we got home, Super Mario 3! All for the low low price of $8.
Had a nice day of chatting with cousins and playing a bit of baseball. The sun was shining, and most of the cousins kids are running around now.

Rookie Mistakes...
On Monday, Faith and I went to Toronto for the day to do some shopping and catch up with some friends. We parked at Yorkdale Mall, to avoid driving downtown and took the subway down to Evergreen to see Chris and Tara McPherson. Steve's Music was my main destination, looking for a piccolo snare drum and new hi-hat cymbals, both of which I came home with. When we got back to Yorkdale at the end of the day, I tried to start the car and realized...
I LEFT THE LIGHTS ON... ALL DAY!
Crap.
One of my main beefs with my car is that there is no bell indicating that the lights are on when you get out... After flagging down people leaving the mall, and finding only half stopped for me and none had jumper cables, we went into Sears to see if we could buy some there. Negative. Turns out that Yorkdale Security offers free booster service though, so, once they found us, we were boosted by a Motomaster Eliminator battery pack. All in all, less stress than I expected considering the circumstance...

It Takes Shape... Man vs Garage v1.1
I feel like I'm taking CRAZY PILLS!
So, I got a random comment from someone, who speaks the worst cyber language ever, asking me to go check out her/his site... plz...
I checked it out, and was surprised that it (1) wasn't porn and (2) found it shockingly similar to Homer Simpson's first website, full of about every imaginable moving picture and smiley around... see for yourself..

A blog's a blog, so I won't judge... here's a big hooray to random spam... HOORAY!

It's Official... I'm a goon.
Today is a groundbreaking day in History...
It IS April 30, 2005.
It IS Saturday...
And It is the day where I get my first Penalty in Organized Hockey EVER...
I was pushing a guy around in front of our net, just as I do every game, but he was really leaning back on me, so I gave some extra "love" with my shoving... Lo, and Behold, I get a Roughing Penalty... I was so happy that my penalty wasn't a wimpy one like tripping, or interference, but Roughing, a fairly manly and well earned sounding penalty.
We won 6-1 against the only team currently ahead of us in our division. Woop! That brings is to 2-2-1 this season. A good start considering the tough teams we faced early on.
After the game, we enjoyed some Blue in the dressing room. Normally, I wouldn't drink Blue if it were the last drink in the fridge, but there's something about a nice cool beer after hard work that makes it taste alright.

1...2...3... Bah ha ha... I love to Count
Notice, if you will, the extra counter at the bottom right of this blog. Precision counter was having trouble counting hits left by Firefox, so I added a stat counter counter at the bottom too. I started it at the same point I was at with precision counter and they're both counting unique visitors. Eat my dust Matt... that's all I have to say about that.

5 Games anyone?
4 games into the ball hockey season, and I have already witnessed 2 fights involving our team. Aside from the fact that this is "D" division ball hockey in Waterloo, the penalty for fighting is a FIVE GAME SUSPENSION and $50 fine... What a waste on all accounts. I have to give it to Bearsy, who tried his best not to fight, "He just kept punching me in the face..." He managed to Suplex the guy and only lose 1 glove, but still get the fighting major... The other fight had our skinniest guy land a bout with the Juicer with no neck... Otto didn't stand a chance, and ended up with a huge black eye...
Now, I love fighting in professional hockey as much as Don Cherry does, but in Ball Hockey league... give me a break. It's too much to expect that all the bravado be removed from the game, cause what do we have if we can't tell a guy any number of swears and shove a little bit? But actually dropping the friggin gloves for a ball hockey game? Stupid...
Our team is pretty good. We had a great weekend, winning 5-1 over the Generals and coming back to Tie the game against the Stingers on Sunday. I scored the tying goal with 40 seconds left... booyah! It's been pretty fun so far, I just hope there's no more fights, cause we're running out of players to lose for 5 games...

I smell progress!
Tonight, along with my trusty sidekick Matt, I made some progress on my poker table project. We jigsawed, circular sawed and mitre sawed lots of chipboard, and did some glueing and screwing... The table will likely sit 6 people comfortably, and will feature CUP HOLDERS!
I'll get to use my new router soon to round the edges, once I clean up the edges a bit. It looks like my goal to make a poker table top cheaper than the crap one at Giant Tiger will be a success. Aside from expanding my tool collection, I've spent about $25 so far, with no more real expenses anticipated. Huzzah!

Most Important Post EVER!
I bought a chocolate bar for breakfast the other day, Snickers to be exact, and it had an interetsing claim on the wrapper. Biggest Ever! I think it was 102 grams, about twice the size of a normal snickers... that's big. I couldn't help but feel important eating that chocolate bar and can now tell people that I ate the biggest ever chocolate bar, and they didn't.
So there!
I've been seeing a lot of this type of marketing lately, so much so that it's beginning to become ineffective. Last week, I watched the most exciting episode of The Amazing Race, ate the biggest ever Snickers bar and witnessed the Most Shocking Twist ever on Survivor.... and boy are my arms tired...
I probably wouldn't have noticed the farce as much if it weren't for the Joe Schmo Show, a completely fake reality show, using those terms each and every show. Most Shocking Twist ever! most Thrilling elimiation ever! You Can't Miss the Best Episode Ever!!!11!!!
I should feel tired out, watching the best of the best all week long every week, but alas, it's not much different than any other week. I've been suckered by the Hottest New Marketing Sensation! Hooah!

Man vs Garage 1 spoiler...
I'm working on a new project, using my garage as the weather is quite nice now. I'm making a poker table, which I think will get a lot of use in the summer. It will have room for 6-8 people, have a felt top and cup holders... So far I have spent about $10 on the wood, $10 on the felt for the top, and I need to buy paint.
I'm debating the options for the edge of the table. It will be a raised edge, but I'm not sure whether I'm gonna use a router to round the edges and paint them, or if I'll get some pleather and padding and upholster them. I'm leaning towards routing and painting due to less work involved and being able to acquire another power tool.
If I do go with that option, I have had thoughts of drilling poker chip sized holes and inlaying some of my old chips into the edge. I'm not sure what I could use to cover the chips. It would need to be clear and harden well. I haven't seen anything recently that would do that, but I haven't looked that hard. If anyone has any ideas, let me know... I'm all ears.

It would need to be clear and harden well. I haven't seen anything recently that would do that, but I haven't looked that hard. If anyone has any ideas, let me know... I'm all ears.

The Joys of Cannibalism
I bought some feeder guppies tonight for Geoff. He seems to be having fun with them although he's not a very patient or skilled hunter. He's gotten a few, but overall, just chases them around a lot. He's somehow developed this French Politician look today, with a crooked mouth like Jean Chretien. I hope there isn't a sponsorship scandal in the tank, could really hurt Geoff's chances at re-election.
Oscars are quite dumb, I remember when Chompy decided to try to eat the glass thermometer in my tank, and well, he broke it. Somehow it wasn't the shards of glass he ate that killed him, it was the lack of water in his tank after it broke. He also liked shredding my fake plants and eating bacon bits from my pizza. I miss chompy.
Well, back to watching fish eat other fish.

Hi, my name is Jooje and I'm a drug addict!
I guess she's not as stupid as she looks. Today, Faith bought some catnip toy thing and Jooje addopted it and covered it in her drool. Catnip makes her quite nutty. Faith hid it up high in the Castle Turret, and Jooje just found it. She promptly knocked it out of the turret and began her bender... She needs help.

This one suits your Season
Hey, it is finally upon us.
BALL HOCKEY SEASON!
I'm pumped about this year, cause I've joined a new team, one that knows how to play ball hockey! The Legends were a noble opponent last year, now they are my team. I'll probably play defence again, although, I may try forward this year, due to my abnormally good hands... If you ever want to check out the standings, look here.
So I will be donning the Baby Blue this year, and due to it being a contract year, I will put up some good numbers on the scoresheet. The Leafs will for sure sign me next season.

Pop and Circumstance
The Deal of the Century!
24-591 ml bottles of Pepsi products like Dr Pepper for $8.00
Where, might you ask, can you get such a deal? Well, I would point you in the direction of Costco if that were the case. However, the deal is at none other than Cambridge Surplus. Apparently they get deals from closing stores, and can offer wicked deals as such. They are $0.50 each, or 24 for $8 which works out to $0.33 per bottle. mmm...

Duck and cover
So, there's something about Jooje that I haven't figured out. Ever since she was a kitten, she has had one major phobia. No, it's not being skinny... She's afraid of the little yellow suction cupped ducks in our bathtub. I have no idea why she's so petrified. Well, maybe it's because when he was sleeping near the tub when she was young, we threw the ducks at her. It's probably not related. But just as you'd expect her not to look behind the TV everytime she sees something interesting on it, you'd expect her to figure out that the ducks aren't scary. Alas, you can keep her stuck in the bathroom by simply lining the doorway with yellow ducks. It quacks me up everytime.
Speaking of Pop Machines
I'm back onto the idea of wanting a pop machine for personal use. I'm gonna start saving my twoonies, so when I find one that's not too much money, I can get it and put it in my garage or basement. I want to ressurect the Mystery Pop choice so that there is an element of risk. I've probably already posted all about this, but I'm excited again.

A pop machine in the cafeteria and kissing babies...
So there's been a little "buzz" regarding the gender inclusion (or exclusion for that matter) on my bLog. I'm not gonna mention any names, but a certain couple, Jenn and Doug, or Doug and Jenn have been quite typal about this matter in my comments section.
Now, since this is an election year, and a contract year, I will try to be diplomatic and score 50 goals so I'm more attractive to other teams next season.
So...
Please send any beefs with my blog or the name I have on your link to this address, and I will try not to be anal, and rectify any problem. I will try to accomodate any name you wish in the link section, keep in mind, i will not include any words including the "BIG 13" swear words, so keep it clean... I look forward to hearing from you. So there.

Spring Back, Fall Forward, right?
I't officially STUPId O'CLOCk... It came extra fast tonight, it's like an hour dissappeared... I can't sleep. Could be due to Playing hockey at 10pm, or the freaked up sleep schedule due to me thating up til 6am yesterday... I dunno, but it sucks. I'm sick and tired of a lot of things, but mostly I'm just sick and tired.
NOTE: We won our game, putting us up 2-1 in the "B" cup finals of the MHL. I got 2 assists with my new Stick... It's quite nice. I also got hit in the mouth with a puck, giving me a few nicks on the inside of my lip, and slight swelling. It's still a bit tender. My Mom's gonna read this and offer to buy me a full face mask, cause last time I got hit in the face, she bought me a half visor. I love my mom.
maybe i'll go back to bed and listen to jooje make racoon noises and run around.

Stupid Jeff Probst
I seem to have caught Jeff Probst's cold in the past couple days... why didn't he just call in sick. Seriously.
I'm also upset due to the lack of consistency with rules in Survivor. He made no mention of the fact that rules were broken at all challenges last week. According to Jeff's rules, no survivor can sit out consecutive challenges... well, since ulong was down to 3 members, 5 had to sit on Koror, so 2 people sat both challenges. Now, I don't have any solution, but I would have liked at least some off colour comment from Jeff, regarding that rule never needing to be amended. What's next? Jeff gets to vote off the survivor he chooses each week.

April Tool's Day
So, I have sucessfully pulled the same gag at work for 2 years running now... I call in to work in the morning, saying that my car has broken down, and I'm not sure when I'll get to work. Then, I show up at regular time, and get smacked in the arm by whichever staff took the message. This year, a not was put in the communication book regarding my impending absence, which makes it more funny to me.
Now, I've always known April fool's to be done at noon on the first of april, probably because teachers didn't want to bother being anxious about whoopy cushions etc for the whole day...
Faith calls me at 4:15, when she was supposed to pick me up at 4:00. This is fairly normal, cause Faith is on-time challenged... she says she's been in an accident, and she's not sure if the car's driveable. This supposedly happened near the group home, so I grabbed my coat and was gonna walk to the scene of the accident to work things out. Then I hear the squeally belt of our car as it pulls into the driveway, and realize that I was duped... completely not expecting anything, getting mad about having to fix the car, and future insurance hikes... ugh. I'm a chump, but she was totally out of line... or was she?

This just in...
...Jeff Probst has a cold, in the warmest place on earth. Jerk. Good survivor tonight. Finally the show is predictable, having the weak tribe keep getting weaker. Somehow makes me happy, although I thought Ibrahem was kinda cool... Maybe the long lonely nights will produce a Survivor baby in the Ulong cave... I've been waiting 10 seasons for a survivor baby. Biggest twist ever, next week, the Ulong tribe will lose again. blah blah blah
LOST is back!
Dangit... it's been long enough, so LOST is back with new episodes. Good ol' sweeps, controlling my TV show viewing schedule... Another strange episode, showcasing a bit more about Locke... who thinks up these story lines... They've got me hopelessly hooked again. ho hum.

Fancy Footwork
Finally, the annoying couple, or idiot husband, is gone from the amazing race. That was a nice touch, what with the footrace at the end. Would have been a real bummer to lose because you rolled a truck...
NEWS FLASH!
A new episode of LOST is on tomorrow, the 30th at 8pm regional on CTV... don't miss it... looks like Locke and Boone play in the forest with that metal thing... I can't wait.

Don't you know a foamy latte makes me farty and bloated?
Well, Lent is over, and I made it. So I drank Dr. Pepper first thing this morning to celebrate! Now I've got a rumbly in my tumbly due to all the gas in the pop. If only they had a McDonalds in Cochrane... then i'd feel real sick... which makes me think, maybe I shouldn't start back on these things due to the results... BAH! There's a Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper waiting for me back in Kitchener, so I'm waiting for that. I hope the easter bunny finds you an hour before the devil knows you're dead.

The MIRACLE of LIFE
So, we're in Cochrane for easter weekend, it's calfing season, so we got to see a calf pulled out tonight. It was having a tough time, so they hooked chains around it's hoofs and used a pulley to yank it out. Afterbirth is quite disgusting, meaning it took the gust right out of me. Whoosh! If we hear of another calf pulling, I'll get pictures, otherwise, conduct yourselves accordingly.

If you're as nerdy as I am, you'll understand this license plate I saw today in Kitchener.

Chet Atkins OD'd on Carbs.

This is Geoff, he's my Snow Oscar. This is my first strong oscar since Chompy, God rest his soul, and I'm quite happy with him. He's called a snow oscar because they bred the stripes out of him, so he's mostly white. He is albino, so he probably can't see well, and probably thinks racist comments about me and my dark skin. He survived an early bout with ICK, which is more than I can say for the Clown Loach. Also in the tank are my sucker fish, named sucker, and my statue of a hobo, named Chet. Anyways, I think I'll give up and go to bed.
My Precious...
I picked up my new stick today, the Synergy SL! It's so beautiful that I couldn't part from it long enough to take a picture. Faith is a very patient woman, sleeping in the same bed as me and my new friend, stick I mean... I'll take the couch if I have to, cause this stick deserves the royal treatment. I've written a Free-form Haiku about it.
Oh, Synergy SL
So Pretty, graceful
A bit too short
need new end plug
sigh

Man vs. Basement IV: Grout Expectations
Well, I just finished a war with the basement again, working on my new computer desk. I made it from scratch, using only flour, eggs, sugar, some MDF board, Ceramic Tile and legs from Ikea. This was my first ever experience with ceramic tiles, and I have to say that they aren't really that scary or tough... just real intimidating and difficult. This was a particularly tough battle, starting in the garage, moving upstairs to the spare room, then down to the basement for the main event, the grout. It turned out ok, considering i had never done this before. All in all, i am quite pleased, with the desk, which weighs in at about 100lbs now.

Close Brush with death
I took the camera, cause this was the earliest we have been out in ages. Faith and I both bought Night Passes at the mighty mountain, and usually got out after 7 pm which is not all that condusive to Digital photography.

Ski season is over at Chicopee this Sunday afternoon... boo urns. We haven't been out much recently, which makes us sad, considering the recent news. We're going out again tonight, and that may be all she wrote.

I heard that once they find 2 toothbrushes in the snow, they are required by law to shut down for the year. I only found one. However, my snowboard has minty fresh breath now.

Is David Hasselhoff Irish?
St Paddy's day has come and gone, just like the food colouring I put in my beer tonight. Matt Came over, and we watched Anchorman: Wake Up Ron Burgundy, the spare dvd made of mostly extra stuff shot during the making of Anchorman. It was a different angle on the Anchorman story, with a lot more of the weird humour. eh... kinda slow, but funny in some parts. I put some green food colouring in my Moosehead, and had Guiness from a bottle, and Faith made some rice crispy squares with Lucky Charms instead of rice crispies... mmm... breakfast tomorrow.
Matt and I finished off the night, when Faith went to bed, with a game of poker in the garage, enjoying some of the cigars that Rudy brought back for me from Cuba... mmm... stinky. I lost, then bought back in, then won most of matt's chips, then lost again. Good times though.
Which brings me to my main point... Is David Hasselhoff Irish? I know Owen Nolan is... speaking of which, I hope he isn't as gimpy and useless as he has been when/if NHL comes back next season...
Anyways, hope you all arived alive, and may you get to heaven and hour before the devil knows you're dead.

Biggest Twist Ever!!!!!!!111
Finally some good twists on Survivor... First off, the 2 tribes going to council to vote, nice touch. Then winning tribe eating in front of losing tribe... good good... Then the vote for the individual immunity.... Wha Happen! Craziness. Good ol' Ibrahem... good thing he made his last ditch plea... it's not fair... boo hoo. bye bye tatooey... go marry Lex, and get a bra that fits.

Going once.
I just recently finished my first Ebay auction as a seller... I've been on the buying end for many an auction in my day, but this was a first. I got close to what I wanted for it, but ended up under-quoting for shipping charges and having to pay a bit extra. Ah well, live and learn... watch out world, i'm gonna be a millionaire soon, so long as i can find a million dollars worth of crap to sell.
Heads Up!
Watch out folks, Survivor is on Wednesday night this week... crazy you say? don't mind if I do... It's been a good season in my opinion, consisting of some nice physical/competitive challenges and a wicked reward (Home Depot shelter), so I am impressed...

I have always enjoyed seeing what they do for shelter, and this past week whence the shelter was built by the survivor challenge crew, I was in happy land... I hope to someday build a big treehouse, just like Koror's shelter... So don't miss it...

Eat your candy bar and put syrup on your bacon
So, we're back from the nether-regions... where "gosh" is pronounced "gAsh" and chocolate bars are called Candy Bars... what the frig. The land where they sell Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper, and beer and wine in all gas stations... sounds heavenly, to a certain extent.... then you hear someone say gAsh, and it makes you want to run for the border.... not Taco Bell.
If it weren't the season of lent right now, I would have smuggled a tonne of american Mountain Dew back with us, cause unlike it's canadian version, it's loaded with CAFFEINE! I knew I should have just given up fast food.
I spent a bit in Dunhams Sports store in the mall in Port Urine, perusing their "hockey" section, only to find that it wasn't all that special. They had the basics, a few synergy's and vapor xx's, but nothing too spectacular. One thing I did find was a Mylec replacement blade that fits a standard shaft, not just around a broken wood stick... Things seemed slightly cheaper there, but sticks are still a lot cheaper on ebay.
Speaking of ebay, I returned Sun evening to find an auction for a stick I've wanted for a while and the price was abnormally low near the end of the auction, so I bid and won... no last minute shenanigans. Booyah!
That's about all... The Marshalls (Mike and Mary) were very hospitable, we had a gay old time watching Napoleon, and the farting preacher... They have a sweet elevator in their house... and a pool table. Unfortunately, Mike's grandmother passed away on Saturday morning, so we had to leave a bit earlier than expected, so remember the Marshalls in your prayers. Rough stuff.

Back in the ol' US of A
Hey all, visiting the Marshalls near Cass City, Michigan. We crossed the border no problem, and made our way to the mall, where Faith purchased a shirt quoting Napoleon Dynamite "I like your sleeves, they're real big". It was a good find.
I'm somehow always amazed that Port Huron is so close to Canada, yet their sports store has hardly any hockey stuff, and Target has absolutely no representation of the greatest sport on earth in their sports section... Weird.
It was a nice evening of barbecued chicken, Napoleon Dynamite and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog... oh, and of course the Farting Preacher! See you on the other side?

Annual Chili Cookoff today; Music to Follow
Last week our church had a chili cookoff, which prompted Faith to post about the Farting Preacher on her Blog. The farting preacher is a video clip of a Televangelist, Robert Tilton, whose facial expressions and mannerisms had fart noises dubbed behind them. It's absolutely ridiculous, and so perfect. Check it out.
I did a little bit of investigation to find out who this guy is. His TV ministry is very similar to that of Peter Popoff (Faloo), citing the "prosperity Gospel" telling people that if they send him money, God will prosper them. Just like Popoff, he came under a lot of heat with claims of fraudulent use of the money, and other claims regarding his ministry. Check it out.
Man, there's some loons out there... watch the farting preacher videos, they're good for the heart.

The Post You Were Looking For Cannot Be Found
Anyone else getting this message with Blogger comments? I've wanted to respond to a few posts on peoples blogs who use blogger comments, but it pops up the message
"The Blog You Were Looking For Cannot Be Found"
It's happened on my home computer and at work now, but I've never come across this problem with Haloscan comments... Blogger changed their comment system recently, so I imagine there's a problem with it, but I still found that it was more hassle than Haloscan, which I subscribe to. Anyone else come across this problem?

Stupid Farmers
I was driving at work yesterday, heading towards Waterloo, when I found that the lunch time rush was a bit worse than usual... hmmm, what could be the problem? Well, I drive a bit further, considering bailing off the highway immediately, when I see a distant shape on the horizon with blinking lights, driving very slow. Well, it was a convoy of tractors on the expressway, protesting against the government. Tobacco farmers... ugh. What is the point, other than publicity, to being a nuisance to everyone who's not important? They're doing the same thing in TO today, which should be real goofy.
I'm a real big supporter of farmers, being the little man, but there must be a better way of doing politics... Maybe park in front of the parking lot a queens park so none of the people that can do anything can get out... who knows, all I know is get out of MY way... jerks
Sure, they do need more support from the government, but is inconveniencing the average joe going to do anything? I don't want to live in fear of having a tractor blocking off my driveway some morning because pig prices are in the toilet.

This years Calder trophy goes to...

This Sunday, Jay Calder played at church, he's an awesome guitarist, well worth the listen. He plays sort of a flamenco meets modern style on acoustic guitar. I bought his CD, although I could have gotten one for free (or $34.65/month) if I had signed up for a World Vision kid. The guy had some pretty cool thoughts, as a former pastor, so it was neat to have him at church. Well, that's all.

Change is BAD
Don't let anyone tell you any different. Sure, I got a real sweet deal on my new skates ($449 for $150) but, man they really hurt bad. Gosh. They're pretty much the best skates I've ever worn, and I haven't had a chance to take them off any sweet jumps. Right about now, after 2 games in them, I'm ready to go back to my old skates and risk them completely breaking... I've got blisters, and can't walk straight any more... I'll have to take them back cause they're ruining everyone's life and eating all my steak.

The numbers....
they're cursed... man, that was a good episode of LOST. Hurley's a real interesting character. I thought he was gonna snap huge. Looks like there might be a re run next week, which sucks, cause I'm just getting back into it after the break at christmas. At least I have something to look forward to watching in absence of NHL hockey. Idiots! Gosh!

Well, whadya know?!
So, upon further review, Brock was right, and as a wet duck, we should have trusted him. For some odd reason, Hurley was getting into a car on the TV in the scene there Jin first delivers "the message" to the inspector guy. Way to pay attention to details Brock, Gold star for you.
I'm with Matt, especially with the discovery of this new information, that there is a great need for a Hurley back story episode. Maybe this is just foreshadowing. Who knows. All I know is that LOST is the best show on earth! And I want to vacation on that island... cute little polar bears.

It's about freakin time!
Without a moment to spare, my MP3 player finally arrived again on friday. I was checking back, and I bought it on November 20th 2004, making it over 3 months since I ordered it... ugh. Ah well, I finally have it and it WORKS! Fancy that. It is a slightly different one than the last, having the radio integrated into the player, rather than having the chinsey scan radio attached to headphones. It still has a spelling mistake on the player itself, highliting it's capability as a Voice Recoder... I'm gonna have fun re-coding my voice.
Ah well, it works, so I still think I got a good deal, because hardship is not a currency.

Topless Model!
Now that I have your attention, I bought some darts on eBay a while back and they just came in. There wasn't much special about these particular darts except that they came with a few sets of flights, featuring a set of Toronto Maple Leaf flights. Now, I didn't pay much attention to the other flights, didn't seem too special.
Much to my surprise, as Faith and I opened the package, we searched for the Maple leaft flights and found a different set first, featuring a Topless Woman... DISCLAIMER: I did not know that was part of the deal, or I would have told him to keep them, not that I'm gay or anything, but I value my life...
Anyways, I'm gonna save them for when I have people over, to make them feel awkward for fun. So if this doesn't get me any mis-directed google hits, I don't know what will.

Finally some more action...
Lost was pretty good tonight. Nothing much has happened since the ol' Ethan vs Gun episode, so it was refreshing to see a bit more action. Interesting peek into the chinese guy's past... and how did the chick's english get so good so quick? She's using some big words. Maybe there'll be a runner up for the LOST baby with Sayeed and what's her head... look at me, rambing on like a school girl.

Why I Hate American Idol....
While I find the auditions pretty funny, there are many reasons why I hate american Idol...
1. Ryan Seacrest: What an Idiot... spare me the drama, although this is the most shocking reason ever... He's settled into his comfy position, and become almost as pompous as Simon... This year he is not sporting his faux-hawk or fake mullet, but man... I just don't like him.
2. Simon Cowell: I don't really not like Simon, actually, I really enjoy his comments because they are straight forward and realistic. The problem with him is not a problem with him... it's a problem with the stigma people have regarding him. People come in to audition, and are shocked when he makes a harsh comment, or doesn't like their voice. People come in with guns blazing now and don't give him a chance to shoot them down hard.
Finally--
3. Interviews: As if Ryan Seacrest's commentary isn't stupid enough, the contestant interviews during the show are getting as boring as player interviews after a hockey game, or Jeff Probst's pre-tribal counsel Q&A session. Well, you just have to give it your all, nobody's safe here. I'm not confident, it's up to America! Why aren't there any straight shooters in the contestants to tell Seacrest that he's dumb, or say they personally sucked butt tonight... Instead, we have to listen to cookie cutter rehearsed answers.
So, since Faith is watching it, I just sit in the kitchen, complaining. What else can I do? Really?

The Ol' Spanking...
Saturday night was the last game of my MHL (Missionary-Church Hockey League) and boy, did we go out in style. I believe the final score was 11-0 AGAINST us... either that or the score keeper was too nice to put up any more goals on the board. We just couldn't put anything together, and our goalie really stunk...
To make matters worse, I looked over to the other team's bench late in the third period, and saw but ONE sub. We lost 11-0 to a team with 1 sub... If that isn't embarassment, I don't knw what is.

The Kiss of Death
...or the survivor pool Pick as I like to call it. I posted a few weeks back about my pick for Survivor Palau, which started tonight. Wanda, the shemale was my pick, and sadly, (s)he was just another innocent victim of my survivor pick. 2 years running, my original pick has been one of the first gone, or eliminated immediately after I decide they will win. Wanda wasn't even afforded the luxury of a vote, rather, eliminated in a school-yard game of who's picked last.
Sure, (s)he was really annoying in the few minutes we saw her on TV... (s)he sang ridiculous songs that she had composed herself in preparation for a long game of Survivor... but I had to go call him/her out as the winner... and WHAMMY! (S)he's gone... I will shed but one tear for Wanda's demise...
but life goes on...
The one person who would have ruined the show, had she stayed on, was the one voted off... Attitude and Fortitude were possessed by Jolanda, but she was too dang annoying and bossy to be kept around. So the relatively useless Tatooed girl stayed instead of the stong/abrasive Jolanda...
I'm also quite happy that Willard made the final cut, getting picked last, and sending the ladies eye candy home. Willard's gonna be the man... or get voted out next.
I'm a Poker Star!
.COM though, not . NET... I was playing online against Pat last night, I took a bunch of his Play Money and ended up with 3 x what I started with... after losing it all a few times. Texas Hold'em is quite easy, and you can play while doing other things, as long as they're not too involved. But there's not much more satisfying in life than saying those magic words... "ALL IN" and pushing your large stack of chips into the middle... booyah!

I Command You to Visit These Blogs
... but you'll probably be disappointed. They're both brand spankin new. Both people originate from Sarnia, which is weird, cause despite the polution, more and more people tourn out not retarted...
The first on is Amanda Fournie's. She's quite funny and happens to post ridiculous comments on her friends blogs...
The second one belongs to none other than Josh Purdy who has met Josh Walter, who formerly slapped the Bass for the Sarnia based Alt-Rock Band "Social Laceration"...

What Kind of Sucker am I, Really?
It's about 10 hours til the NHL's deadline to make a deal, they've been jerking us around for how many months now, and I am hanging on any word I can get form the jerks who have screwed me and many other hockey fans over for the past 6 months... I'm such a chump. But they'll never accept a salary cap, and never accept anything that's not linking salaries and revenues... jerkasses...
All this crap... and I'm still waiting with baited breath.

The State of Gardening
Faith and i watched Garden State tonight. A fairly strange movie, with interesting characters. It was a love story above all. And I'm a sucker for Chick Flicks... you heard it here first. The movie starred and was written by Zach Braff of the TV show "Scrubs". Natalie Portman was also in it, and Ian Holm (aka Bilbo Baggins).
I really liked the movie, as the characters were pretty funny, it was real enough to keep my interest, and the soundtrack was quite nice. I had heard a few tunes before, but there were some nice mellow tunes I've never heard. Booyah

Drug Addiction is ReLentless
So, Pancake tuesday came and went, and so comes the season of lent. I started practicing lent last year and gave up pop for the 40 some odd days... man that sucked, but I made it. I usually have 2 cans of pepsi or Dr Pepper by 10 am, so it was a tough haul right off. Caffeine shakes and headaches, and weight loss in the first few weeks, but I adjusted and plumped right back up.
Lent is supposed to be a reminder of the 40 days that Christ spent in the desert being tempted, a reminder that He went through temptation and a reminder for us to suck it up, cause we have it pretty good. Anyways, last year I thought it was just 40 days and a bunch of us at work did it, until Palm Sunday... then found out from someone that it is supposed to go right to Easter Sunday. What?! Sundays are extra. Some people say Sundays don't count, because they remind us of the resurection, others say you can use Sundays as a "break" from what you fast, others just suck it up and fast for 46 days... Break day sounds an awful lot like the "Body for Life" diet... Winners Finish, Finishers Win... So I'm just gonna go "hardcore" and opt not to use break days...
This year I added greasy fast food to my repetoire, making it a bit tougher. I think I probably eat some sort of fast food at least twice a week, usually at work, so this will be tough. I'll have to make sure I have time to do Subway or Pita Pit, or, heaven forbid, take a lunch with me... yuck. So I take tylenol with me to work so I can rid myself of those nasty caffeine headaches, and hope I have time to take care of lunch...

No Closure? Wha Happen'd
Man, I watched LOST last night, expecting to figure a few things out regarding Charlie and Claire's capture and release, and just when I think I'm gonna figure something out... BAM! someone goes and kills the one who knows... ugh.
There sure were a lot of people I've never seen before on the island last night, even the first dead guy... maybe I'm on the island... I could find that out next week.
On that note, we came home at 8:40 to find that the guide on the sattellite said that Survivor Palau was on, and we had a mini heart attack, thinking we missed the first episode. Then we found out that it was just a mistake... phew... I mean... our lives would be literally shattered if we don't see that show...

Dan Grace: International man of mystery...
Looks like I am really now who I say I am... I searched google for myself and found out that I am a wardrobe supervisor for lots of movies... you learn something new every day...
I am also an avid golfer and engineer, creating the Everywhere chair...
Maybe that's why I'm so tired...

The Village: Reserving Good Judgement

Last night, we rented M. Night Shayamalan's The Village. Overall, I really liked it, falling head over feet into the story and eating up the twist at the end like free beer at a frat party.
My only concerns with it were that it was very slow building, and I found myself at times just wanting the plot to speed up a bit. The end made up for it as far as I'm concerned, but hey, I almost didn't make it there. Also, I really expected a scary movie, which I didn't get. There were a few suspenceful moments, but overall, it was quite bland in the scream department.
But
It was a very well done movie, with great colour emphasis particularly with the red and yellow, the bad and safe colours. It was very Schlindlers List or Hero like in it's emphasis of red in an overall bland set. The whole idea of "those we don't speak of" was very cool.
The only question I have now is what colour Lucious is. Stop asking...
Mp3 Player Episode III: Revenge of the Postal Worker

VS

So It's been 2 1/2 months now and i still do not have my working mp3 player from ebay. I posted a while back about getting it and it not working, a new one shipped on Dec 29th and I still hadn't gotten it, so I emailed the guy to look into it. I had been more than patient...
Turns out that his description that he uses on the hundreds of mp3 players he sells, "Computer Accessorie", was not good enough for canada Customs his time around, so it was sent back to him. Not his fault, but completely frustrating, cause all I wanted was an mp3 player for Snowboarding, so I would at least not hear the kids as they attempt to run over my head... and now, it's gonna be almost march when I get it now... I hope nothing else goes wrong...
when I buy an mp3 player for $36 cdn, I don't expect to get all this hassle with it... ugh. gotta go, i'm in the middle of a big bike race.
Friday, February 4

So, last night I was at chicopee snowboarding when I lost my balance, fell backwards and some dumbass kid ran over my head... I have a nice lump and bruise on the left side of my head and my toque flew a good 5 feet from my head. Next time I see a punk kind on the slopes, I'm gonna pound him. I was right by the lift, and he came whipping by, ignoring the "SLOW" sign, and ran over my head. Jerk
Outrages Mages 4 Life
Hey, a friend at work, Brad, showed me this link a week ago or so... It's a group of his friends, calling themselves "The Outrages Mages" doing "jackass" type stuff... It's good for a laugh or six if you're bored... This stuff predates the formal jackass stuff and it's pretty funny. Apparently back in the day they had a following of 14 year olds in the Waterloo area, enough so that they were getting recognized in malls. Beware, this is not for the faint of fart...

Which came first?
The chicken or the punk kids who egged my house last night?
I woke up to find that 3 eggs had been hurled in the general direction of my house, one hitting the car, one hitting the garage and one just beside the front door. I called CSI in and all they could tell me was that there was a second shooter... jerks... so smug. Welcome to the f'ing neighbourhood... hooah!

Stupid Bowl...
I've been made to wonder a bit lately, whether I am a real man or not because of my lack of concern for American Football, most recently the Stupidbowl aka: Super Bowl XXXIX. I really couldn't care less for the sport, and don't buy into any of the hype surrounding the event.
Even with the Hockey season currently in "lack", I have found no reason to change my allegiance, or resort to following this sport. I'm not sure if it's that I haven't really gotten along with most people I've met who've played football, or what is wrong with me... or why the rest of the world is so dumb... ah well, I'm the Man.

It's tough to be patient
Last night, I was watching TV when amidst the American Idol auditions, comes the preview for the next episode of LOST... So much is going on on that show and the next episode has Ethan coming back after Charlie, and Claire the center of attention after a bunch of episodes being kidnapped... I'm pretty sure the next episode is 4pm on Stupidbowl sunday, going back to regular wednesday time slot next week. It's been a while since I've been so hooked on a TV drama enough to make time every week.
The other show I've been watching is Degrassi: TNG... It's goofy and fairly predictable, that's probably why I watch it (and Faith watches it every week). Last show and the next 2 feature Kevin Smith as a character (Dogma, Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob strike back) and he's pretty funny. It's weird seeing him outside his usual Silent Bob role.

Holding on... barely
Hey folks, it's been 3 days without internet and I'm holding on... barely. I just found that if I sit in the far corner of my new bedroom, i can connect reasonably to a friendly neighborhood linksys network, so here I sit. We're almost all moved, just small trinkets and garbage left in the ol abode. It's nice being closer to work, and oh, so much nicer to have air circulation. The best thing is that if we turn off music and tv, there is nothing... silence... SILENCE! Not part of the vocabulary at the ol' place...
Uhaul was a big frustration on moving day. The truck I was supposed to get was broken, so they scrounged up another which took 1/2 hour... The only truck available was a 24' truck, so we moved... took one load over, then went back for the rest, load up, and try to turn around. Lo, and Behold... reverse doesn't work anymore... Of all the stupid problems to have, considering I only needed to back up 40 feet or so, reverse doesn't work. I sit on hold with Uhaul hotline for 15 minutes and suggest that maybe my friends push. Matt and Tim tried, and surprisingly enough, it moved, so Dave and Mike thought it wasn't so stupid anymore and pushed too... We manage to get to the new place, and back to uhaul without having to reverse... That truck was a piece of crap.
Special thanks to Rich, Jim, Matt, Dave, Mike, Tim and of course Jebus for help on moving day. My washing machine will never be the same...

The Tribe Has Spoken

Survivor Palau is coming! And I couldn't be more happy! It starts February 17th on CBS and Global. There's a lot of funny names in this one, from Gregg, Ibrahem and Willard to Bobby Jon and Janu. Looks like there's 20 survivors to start with, so it should be a little different... One change I predict is Jeff Probst being sexy and clean cut as if chiselled from granite... he's so dreamy.

Ya, I know it's early, but I've made my pick for champion, her name is Wanda, and she looks like a funny looking man. Her bio stated that she is the "Chairman of the Potter County Planning Commission and secretary/fund-raising Chairman for the Tri-Town Fire Company Auxiliary." Currently she teaches English and ponders how to spend her recently earned $1,000,000. She's got to be the winner cause a shemale can play both sides naturally. She can be in the guys alliance and the girls alliance without being untruthful. Think about it.

What the CARP

What the crap is up with LOST taking breaks here and there. First there was 4 weeks off at Christmas time and now there's 2 weeks, coming back Sunday, Feb 6th at 4pm, then back to regular Wednesday evenings at 8. Last episode ended with such a big hook that I'm literally dying of suspense. Claire is back... is she still pregnant? What does she have to say? AAAARGH... Like the sucker I am, I will come back running once episodes come back, same with the NHL season... which still could be on. But I'm not counting on it, cause I'm not really that much of a chump. Just kinda.
Pieces of Jooje

I came across a site petitioning to stop Ashlee Simpson from singing. Jooje signed it, and she was signature #217473 on the list. I think she already stopped singing, and that's the main beef people have with her, but the main problem is Jessica Simpson. She looks as if she is throwing up while she sings and her talent is way overrated. Stop her before her little sister... please

Another one bites the dust
We braved the stupid weather to go to Port Huron (pronounced Port Urine) for Mike Marshall and Mary Elston's wedding. It was very well choreographed, and surprisingly well attended by people from afar, despite the retarted snowy conditions. All went smoothe, and Mike is now hitched, and off to Hawaii for honeymoon. He's probably the last of the main group from EBC to get hitched, so we're real proud of him. It was pretty much the best wedding I've ever been to. GOSH...
We managed to get the most flattering pictures possible, so here they are.
Mary
and Mike...
Isn't it great when people find true love. Good times had by all, and not too many hassles at the border.

The Mighty Chicopee
Well, Faith and I have been going to chicopee regularly this year, and surprisingly despite the stupid weather, conditions have been pretty good. I've been getting pretty steady, and haven't fallen real bad in quite some time. I'm also tackling the steepest chicopee has to offer without even flinching. i'm so good. Maybe now I have to tackle the terrain park Pat... I'll nail the 720 in no time.
Lost in the Move
Hey, we're preparing to move these days, hoping to get out of here on the 29th. We've got a kick butt place across town for a lot less rent. Went over today and I assembled my newly acquired hockey net, purchased with the remainder of my Canadian Tire gift cards from Christmas. I think it will be nice in our new place.
Anyone else see LOST last night... I mean, frig... I haven't been so hooked on a fictional tv show in forever. Polar bears, kidnappings... it has it all. Anyone catch if she was still prego when she showed up at the end? Soo many directions the show could go with all the cans of worms they've opened up... I highly reccommend it to anyone who still hasn't seen it. 8pm wednesdays on CTV

I'm OK now...
Well, finally we have the information we needed regarding the shizzle at church. Turns out that this has been a culmination of years of unresolved issues with the Pastor and his job. He's a great man, very gifted in many areas, and not so much in others.
Anyways, I'm relieved that the church leadership was in the right, and it does make sense that the Pastor move on. I am also relieved that it's not anything too crazy and that it doesn't change my high opinion of Pastor Richard. We've all got our skills, and quirks.
We're not gonna leave the church, and are quite happy that things aren't too messy relatively speaking. It's been a whirlwind few days... But there's hope.

I'm Mad
This past week has been a doozie... Thursday, we got a phone call from the Church Board rep who read a statement about the pastor, taking a LOA until things could be sorted out. Out of the blue... long story shorter... today the Pastor announced through a statement prepared by the elders and him that he was resigning. The Elders then read a statement saying that the pastor had decided to resign when faced with some irreconcileable differences with some leaders, and realizing that this was the "best" for the church.
I'm furious right now.
It seems everyone knows what the "real" issues are, but couldn't tell us, and everyone seems to be telling us to "trust" them because it is the right thing. Everyone knows except us, and the Pastor.
He came to talk to us on thursday night, a broken man, shattered and blind-sided by this all, but not wanting to continue his ministry when approached and "asked" to resign. He seems to be clueless as much as us, but everyone else in the church seems to know what's up...
Faith and I were very close to Pastor Richard. I consider him a good friend. It pains me to see him treated like this. It's all happened so fast, it just seems too "fishy". We've been attending Breslau for the past 2 1/2 years, and this leaves us reconsidering our position there as members. I can understand that mistakes were probably made, but that is not reasonable cause for this. People are retarted, they screw up, but are we all so non confrontational that we need to let things stew long enough to boil over like this. The feeling I get from this is that the offences weren't as serious as abuse, but something less drastic, and not treated properly... Ugh
I'm Mad. Sometime this week we'll find out what the real issue is, but I'm not sure that will change anything I'm feeling. I'm mad!

Waxaliscious
Hey, I went to Chicopee tonight, the first time since I got my snowboard waxed, and it was wonderful. A bit shaky doing up bindings the first few times, but overall, it was much smoother, and quite enjoyable. Now all I need to do is find a bigger hill to throw myself down. Hooah!

The other love of my life...
Some of you may know that I am quite the hockey stick enthusiast... Well, now you have the opportunity to partake in my madness at my newly created hockey stick blog entitled Jooje's House of Hockey Sticks. Feel free to wander on by and comment on my mental state etc... I always love visitors.

Wanna make a quick buck?

Who ever thought collecting points at a store would be useful? I have collected optimum points for a few years at Shoppers Drug Mart. If you get to 34,000 points, you can redeem your points for $75 off your purchase. Cool, eh?
How can I, the consumer, make best use of this money.
Well, have I news for you. You can take your optimum points and put them towards something big such as a Home theatre set or Digital camera, something more than $75 and get a sweet deal.
But Shoppers has crap quality electronics etc. when it comes to price vs quality...
Would you just listen... Just return that item with reasonable cause, and get your money back so you can go elsewhere to purchase such an item.
But Wait... somehow they cannot re-instate my optimum points onto my card when processing my refund. What will I do? Well, they offer me the $75 back in cash, because of their inability to refund points, therefore converting my points into Cash. This worked last year when my purchased digital camera was not the one advertised on the box, so I took the cash and bought one elsewhere. This year, I bought the home theatre system, and got it home to find it didn't have the features I wanted... So I take the cash and put it towards a much better system for a cheap price. Merry Christmas Shoppers Drugmart.

28 Days

Today, we went to the Polar Bear rehab centre in Cochrane to check out the bears... They check in for various reasons, mostly addictions to salt-lick and heroine... It's quite the place, when the bears are active, but quite a waste of time when they're sleeping... Normally, we wouldn't have gone in due to the ridiculous $20 entrance fee per person, but today was half price. I got a few good videos of 2 of the bears wrestling, and one tried to attack me through the glass. All in all, a productive visit to the rehab centre. It really means alot to the bears during these trying times in their lives.
It has begun...
judging by recent world events, the fact that is was raining the other day in Cochrane and dropped to -30 that night, and the silly fact that my car wouldn't start today, I can only come to the conclusion that the World is Coming to an End...
My car has been impervious to cold weather in the past and today decided that a mere -24 was too much for it, and wouldn't start up. That was after noon today, perhaps it was just hung over from it's new year party... who knows...
We put a space heater under the hood for a while, and it worked, but who knows what will happen tonight... all things realative I guess...
